The number of visitor increases by 10% over last year, which inspires the courage of gradually declining electronic manufacturing industry;

As the largest electronics fair in China, the 72nd China Electronics Fair (CEF) and the 5th Asia Electronics Exhibition in Shanghai (AEES), ceremoniously closed in Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) on Nov. 15th after four days. According to the statistics of the third party, the number of visitors that attended this exhibition increased by 10% over last year and the number of overseas visitors increased by 20%, even when the whole world are in a financial crisis. The successful curtain call of this exhibition greatly inspires the courage of electronic manufacturing industry in China, showing that fundamental electronic component in China still keeps an upward growth trend and superior fundamentals. This exhibition occupied an area of 60 000 m2 and there were 1700 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions such as Germany, America, Britain, France, Japan, South Korea, India, Switzerland, Austria, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, including 209 oversea exhibitors. This exhibition attracted 52174 experts and buyers from 47 countries and regions。 There are 60369 visitors in total, of which there are over 3000 buyers organized by ministry offices of the central government, provincial and municipal governments, and over 4000 oversea visitors and buyers. Actually it created an international feast in the Yangtze River Delta for communication in electronic information industry.

The grand opening of this exhibition in the economic puzzle attracted the attention of many TV stations and media, including CCTV News, Shanghai TV, Dragon TV, and China Business News, and so on. All of them reported this exhibition specially. Many major media such as China Electronics News, EDN China, EE Times-China, ESM-China, and Electronics News for China also dispatched reporters to make on-spot reports and live coverage about this exhibition.

On Nov. 12th, i.e. the first day of this exhibition, many important figures in the industry at home and from other countries and regions in Asia attended the grand opening ceremony, including Nie Yuchun, vice general manager of China Electronics Corporation, Shao Zhiqing, deputy director of Shanghai Economic & Information Technology Commission, Liu Rulin, deputy director of Chinese Institute of Electronics, Wen Xueli, director of China Electronic Components Association, some oversea guests such as Zhong Yongxi, chief representative of Hong Kong Trade Development Council in Eastern China, Chang Guchuan, senior vice president of Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association, Zheng Zhenyu, director of Society for the Promotion of Electronics Information and Communication Industry of the South Korea, Zheng Fuxiong, deputy director of Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association, and related leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology the PRC and Shanghai Economic & Information Technology Commission. Vice general manager Nie Yuchun delivered the opening speech for the opening ceremony and mentioned in the speech that China Electronics Fair as the largest exhibition in China greatly advanced the development and technical innovation of electronics enterprises in China, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, China Electronics Fair was showing stronger vitality and wider global outlook after more than 40 years’ development, and its development and growth would do further advance the industry to move forward rapidly and healthily.

As fundamental electronic component industry is with superior fundamentals, enterprises in electronics industry behave enthusiastically. The exhibition fully displayed the latest technologies and products of hi-tech enterprises at home and abroad in aspects of electronic material, electronic production equipment, instrument, electronic component, photoelectric display, integrated circuit, automotive electronics, IT digital products, and consumer electronics. Epson, Ideal Industries, Hakko, Hanovo, Tyco, Micro Electronic, Epcos, Shenzhen Diguang, Wuhan Chutian, Xiamen Yinhua, Jiangsu Changdian, Shanghai Feilo and many other industry leader manufacturers attended this exhibition with the latest products. In addition, this fair added sensor pavilion with very high technical content and major sensor manufacturers such as Freescale, Honeywell, ADI, Bosch, and Heraeus attended this fair to display the latest technologies and products in the industry. The 5th Asia Electronics Exhibition in Shanghai concurrently held with the fair gathered high-grade enterprises from Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan and many leading technical products all appeared in Asia exhibition hall. The participation of a large number of oversea exhibitors and visitors further intensified the global image of China Electronics Fair.

Concurrent Activities Lead the Developing Trend of Electronics Industry

Due to sufficient attention paid to electronic manufacturers and distributors, persistent tracing on hot spots of electronics industry, and communication and cooperation among enterprises at home and abroad, China Electronics Fair has been widely recognized since its foundation. Some seminars including “China Electronic Component Leaders Summit”, “Sensors & Wireless Innovation Asia Conference”, “The 6th (Shanghai) Automobile Electronics Forum 2008”, and “Embedded Technology Innovation and Application Summit”, “China FPD Manufacturing Forum (Shanghai) 2008” presented abundant industrial and technological information to visitors and attracted the attention of many visitors. On China Electronic Component Leaders Summit, representatives from a leading connector and relay manufacturer Guizhou Space Appliance Co., Ltd. and some top oversea manufacturers such as Omron Electronic Components and NEC delivered some excellent speeches, so that many visitors questioned and asked for more information in succession. Sensors & Wireless Innovation Asia Conference also drew many attentions in the industry. The 6th (Shanghai) Automotive Electronics Forum and the 2nd Automotive Electronics Saloon held in Jinqiao Development Area simultaneously focalized major matching manufacturers of the industry, during which developers from automotive industry and electronics industry exchange their ideas. Mr Yan Jianlai, director of component department of Society of Automotive Engineers of China and Dr. Xu Min from Shanghai Jiao Tong University delivered speeches from a strategically advantageous position on automotive and electronics industries. Tian Xiaoling, senior manager of electricity and electronics department of SAIC Group Technology Center, TJ Innova Engineering & Technology Co., Ltd., Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center Co., Ltd., Freescale Semiconductor Inc., Vishay International (Shanghai) Inc., ADI Corp., Agilent Technologies Co. Meanwhile, associated forums were set up for such fields as passive device, e-purchasing, green manufacturing, FPD, and embedded technology. The 2nd Chinese and South Korean Electronic Component Trade Talk firstly held in China greatly promoted trade opportunities of electronic components between China and South Korea. The 4th China International Electronics Purchasing Conference with the subject of “supply chain challenges and responses” gathered world-wide famous enterprises such as Motorola, LG, Emerson Network Power, and Alcatel-lucent and representative of many domestic enterprises such as Huawei, Haier, Konka, Hisense, TCL, Bird, Changhong, Kelon, Meiling, BYD, Founder, Amoi, SVA, and Hisense Ronshen to discuss “supply chain financial innovation”, “globalization of China manufacturing industry under the new situation”, and “purchasing of foreign enterprises in China”, and so on.
